Hand-colored stipple engravings by Pierre-Joseph Redouté
Les Roses is Pierre-Joseph Redouté's masterpiece of botanical illustration, published in three volumes between 1817 and 1824 with text by Claude Antoine Thory. The 170 hand-colored stipple engravings depict the roses of Empress Josephine's garden at Malmaison and remain the most celebrated flower portraits ever produced.
